Custom Product Labels
Prepare readable product labels that fit the package, application process and information customers need.
Quick answer
A product label should fit the package, remain readable through normal handling and make the product easy to identify. Start by separating the customer-facing brand panel from ingredients, directions, warnings, barcodes or other information. Then choose sheets or rolls and a material that suits the actual package and exposure.
“Product label” is a use case, not one material. The right construction for a dry candle box may be wrong for a refrigerated bottle or an oily skincare container. Use this page as a preparation checklist, then order through the appropriate custom label product.
Define the label’s job on the product
Primary display label
Carries the brand, product name and information the customer needs to recognize the item quickly.
Information label
Carries final approved details such as ingredients, directions, warnings, lot information or a barcode when the product requires them.
These can be one label, two labels or a label plus printed packaging. The layout should reflect the package shape and the amount of information rather than forcing every product into the same template.
Choose sheets or rolls from how the labels are applied
Label sheets are useful for smaller runs, hand application and several product versions. Roll labels keep repeated labels organized and suit dispensers or compatible application equipment. Tell us if roll direction, core or applicator compatibility matters; those details cannot be inferred from the artwork.
Use the package and exposure to narrow the material
| Product condition | Starting candidate | Confirm first |
|---|---|---|
| Dry box, bag or envelope | Paper label | Surface coating, rubbing and storage humidity |
| Jar, bottle or handled container | Vinyl sheet or plastic roll | Curves, oils, condensation, washing and surface texture |
| Package should remain visible | Clear label | Package colour, white ink and artwork contrast |
| Reflective product detail | Foil or holographic | Small text, lighting and which areas should show the effect |
Design at the finished size
Place the proposed label outline on the real package before finalizing the artwork. Check curves, seams, lids, grips and the amount of space between the label edge and any change in surface. Then print the artwork at 100% size and read it without zooming.
If a barcode or QR code is included, keep adequate quiet space and perform a physical scan test before a large run. Proofing can flag size or contrast concerns, but scanning from a screen is not the same as testing the finished printed label.
Prepare controlled product versions
Keep shared brand elements locked in one master layout. Change product names, colours, flavours or sizes in clearly defined areas. Supply the final approved wording; SparkStickers does not decide what ingredients, warnings or legal statements a product requires.
- Finished width and height
- Package photo and surface description
- Number of SKUs or artwork versions
- Final copy, barcodes and QR codes
- Clear, foil or holographic setup expectations
- Hand, dispenser or equipment application
Approve the print setup before production
A digital proof is included. It confirms the proposed cut, dimensions, artwork placement and specialty setup. Check every product name, quantity, colour reference, barcode number and line of copy. Approval confirms the print setup; it is not a regulatory, material-performance or barcode certification.
Keep a copy of the approved specification with the finished size, material, finish and version name. On a reorder, identify any text or barcode change instead of sending an unlabeled replacement file. Clear version names reduce the chance of mixing an older package design with current product information.
Product label questions
Which label material is best for products?
There is no single best material. A dry paper box, refrigerated bottle, oily jar and flexible pouch have different needs. Choose from the real package surface, exposure and handling.
Can I put several product versions on one order?
Often, depending on the selected format and quantities. Provide a clear list of versions and the quantity needed for each so the practical setup can be confirmed.
Do you create the ingredients or warning text?
No. The customer supplies and approves final product information and remains responsible for any rules that apply to the finished item.
Can you guarantee a label will survive a dishwasher?
No general label should be assumed dishwasher-safe. Heat, water, detergent, abrasion, container material and adhesive all affect performance. Use application-specific testing when dishwasher exposure matters.
